Lighting Handbook App Reviews

Having the ladder information as a main option seems a little weak. I find a lot of bad links to manufacturers sites, and outdated or missing product lines (elation does make controllers for instance ). It is a handy way to find and store most manuals I have looked for. Id like to be able to import manuals I get from manufacturers unavailable through the current links.

Its nice to have one place to go to get most lighting info you need. Sometimes it doesnt have what I need though. It seems to do an ok job of updates and staying pretty current with new gear.

Exceptionally limited!!!

Incredibly limited is putting it lightly. Barely any manufactures that are actually used are in this app. Missing major manufactures. No info on foot-candle measurements or luminance. Worst five dollar app ever

If you need channels, power, weight, Lamp type, Console manual or just need some info on an unfamiliar fixture this is your app. I use it all the time. If you are looking for info on American DJ gear you should probably go elsewhere. If you want foot candle measurements buy the gobo and beam calc for a measly 1.99! 9 bucks really is a small price to pay for all of the info this app has to offer.

I find it handy to use this to download the manuals for the equipment in my theatre and to keep it handy with me if I am up in the grid and need to reference something. However, it is pricey and a lot of its reference data is limited or missing.

This app is a must have for all lighting designers and techs and any touring company cant cant tell you how many times I used this one. love this app

I downloaded this app over a year ago and Im really impressed with how with each update not only does the amount of equipment covered grow, but so does the functionality. Its always been able to download manuals to my device for off line viewing. However now I can do a search to quickly find the information Im looking for combined with a hyperlinked table of contents. No longer am I furiously swiping my phone trying to find the information Im looking for. In someways this app is better than having the actual manuel with you. Unfortunately an app like this is always going to be behind the curve when it comes to new technology coming into the field and I think the developer does a reasonable job keeping up. I use this app just about everyday on the job.

Cant tell you how many times I search the net for manuals. Great to have a first step, looks like a ton of manuals on this, also other useful tools.

I use this app all the time when working. I require my lighting students to download it as well. What a great resource.

Being able to save the manuals you need is very helpful. This app is chock full of goodness. I cant imagine how it could be improved.

Not worth it. Youre better off calling your electrician amigo.

Whenever I find a manufacturers manual I can actually open it in this app and it asks for a custom name for it and now I am saving an archive of manuals on my phone. Pretty cool. Also you can download GrandMA2s FULL Manual! Now if this app could only switch to horizontal mode so you could make the font bigger without scrolling back and forth

Disappointed! You have to pay for anything useful given Im in the field. You have pay for calculators, formulas and others, if you want the select the latest manufacturer lights, guess what you pay for that as well. Manuals are user manuals not service manuals. Very very basic info, the app should have been free with info offered or lack of. I feel I waisted my money and was ripped off.
